Electrical Installation Condition Reports Know Your Electrics Are Safe

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal assessment of the safety and condition of the electrical wiring and fittings within a property. It identifies any damage, deterioration, or non-compliance with current BS 7671 wiring regulations — and grades any issues by severity.

EICRs are now a legal requirement for private rental properties in England, with landlords required to have one carried out every five years or at the start of a new tenancy. They're also strongly recommended for homeowners buying a new property, or anyone who hasn't had their electrics checked in over ten years.
